Here's how the playoff field was selected. Shaun Inman and Jason Koxvold were last season’s co-champions. They’re in. Our 9000+ Season Ticket Holders elected the rest of the players. They chose four winners of regular season matches: Aaron Draplin, Scott Hansen, Sam Potts and Chris Glass. They also chose two of the 36 artists who took part in our weekly “Qualifying Matches” (q) to round out the field of eight: Greg Hubacek and Aaron Scamihorn prevailed in that very close voting.
We’re hosting a series of live design events called Layer Tennis. The season wouldn’t have happened without the support of Adobe® Creative Suite® 4, the weapon of choice for Layer Tennis players and creative professionals everywhere.
We'll be playing matches using video, animation, sound, photos, type and lots more, but the basic idea is the same no matter what tools are in use. Two competitors will swap a file back and forth in real-time, adding to and embellishing the work. Each artist gets fifteen minutes to complete a “volley” and then we post it to the site live. A third participant, a writer, provides play-by-play commentary on the action, as it happens. A match lasts for ten volleys and when it's complete, Season Ticket Holders tell us what they think and we'll declare a winner, so sign up today.
You can follow Layer Tennis on Twitter and if you're so inclined, be a fan of Layer Tennis on Facebook.
A production of Coudal Partners in Chicago.
Support and technical hand-holding by Tilted, the nation's most gracious hosting company.

Thanks to Adobe and to all the artists, commentators and fans that made Friday afternoons so deliciously unproductive during the season. If you haven't checked it out yet, take a peek at our Season Retrospective video. There is a lot cooking for the Fall and, as usual, Season Ticket holders will get the news first.
Shaun Inman is the LT Season 2 Champ!
The winner will be decided by your votes. To vote for a player simply post a Twitter message that includes #LYT and your favorite's name with the "hash" sign in front of it. So, #LYT plus #inman or #hubacek for the early match.
You know how at the end of the NCAA basketball tourney CBS airs a retrospective montage? Yeah, it's sorta like that, only with better music.
