This brings to mind the most famous jump-cut in cinema history. A warrior ape-man in prehistoric times tosses a bone, his weapon, into the air. We cut from this bone in the distant past to the future, to an orbiting satellite armed with nuclear missiles.
A weapon rotating in the air. The same, but different.
A sea-green beast of unfathomable size, rising out of the ocean. The same, but different.
Here, like the cut in 2001: A Space Odyssey, Noper takes us from a violent past to a peaceful future. These beasts aren't destroying us. They're supporting us. Noper's army, victorious, has built a new civilization. Windmills for clean energy, parks, trees. Forget Reagan's shining city upon a hill -- I'll take Noper's shining city upon a beast.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by John Gruber.

Cast your votes on The Championship Match. Both Finalists will receive invitations to play in the post-season tournament for Season Four.
Here's how the voting works. Decide who you'd like to declare as winner and then simply tweet their first name following a hash mark. Either #mig or #noper and, this is important, also include #lyt in that tweet. We'll leave the voting open all weekend and announce our Season Three Champion on Monday.
