That Sinking Feeling

Hubacek is taking an interesting approach to this match. He's not drawing. He's not setting type or writing. Best I can describe it, he's art directing. Or maybe just plain directing, like he's at the helm of a John Wayne WWII epic.

Down there at the bottom right of the frame, collapsed in the raft: is that our pilot from the previous two volleys, rescued from the sea by two comrades? I'd like to think so.

People respond to intense pressure in different ways. Things are going very wrong for these men. I keep looking at the faces of the two calling for help. One is desperate, seemingly on the verge of losing his shit. The other, though, seems calmy resigned to his fate.
