Jason Kottke's Layer 8 Commentary

D Is For Darkness.
Or Dead Dino.

You folks in the audience don't get to see this part of the competition, but these two competitors are f-ing machines. They are cranking out these designs one right after the other, right on time. And joking around. And pasting tweet screenshots. I have no idea how they're doing it...I'm struggling big-time to get my commentary in on time. A round of applause from the commentators booth to both Mig and Mark.

Case in point: Mig took the time to add a shadow to the D in his volley...light from an off-screen Moon perhaps? Anyway, a perfect example of the lightning quick perfectionism at work.

But back to the matter at hand. Mig has brought the darkness, both literally and figuratively. There's another dead dinosaur. So Mig likes killing dinosaurs, I guess. Hey, some people are into ampersands, like *really* *into* ampersands, and some people like dead dinosaurs. Whatever makes your socks go up and down, man. Takes all kinds. Etc.

In terms of style, Mig has clearly changed the game. It'll be interesting to see how Mark reacts...will he play along or go back to his brighter opening style?
