For today's match Mark Greenberg is composing and arranging a musical score as layer-by-layer commentary. We'll be adding his track to the animated sequence of photos that we'll post for each layer. Meanwhile, Bryan "The Ref" Bedell will chime in here and there with other pertinent comments.
It occurs to me that, even moreso than a usual match, the travel time and general backstage mayhem of this match preclude the participant's opportunity to read the Twitter comments or my commentary, and thus might be entirely unaware that they had a transportation theme going. That would explain why Sam's last volley (and Naz' 6) feature no transportation motif (unless "pedestrians" or "roads" count.) But it also means I can post an idea for a great conclusion, and Naz won't see it. If *I* were Naz, aside from being one-third my current weight, I'd be jamming my iPhone power cord into the bottom of that Peet's cup, holding it to my ear, and trying to get hold of Sam. I know for a fact that Naz can't hear Mark's soundtrack, so he has no idea that there's a barely-audible phone ringing in the background.
Luckily for everyone, I'm not playing and that corny-ass idea will never happen. But I can't wait to see how Mr. Hamid wraps it up.
Sam's match is over, and he performed beautifully. He's taking a breather backstage trying to forget his run-in with a FedEx truck during Layer 3.
Congratulations to Mig Reyes, Layer Tennis Season 3 Champion.

Cast your votes on The Championship Match. Both Finalists will receive invitations to play in the post-season tournament for Season Four.
Here's how the voting works. Decide who you'd like to declare as winner and then simply tweet their first name following a hash mark. Either #mig or #noper and, this is important, also include #lyt in that tweet. We'll leave the voting open all weekend and announce our Season Three Champion on Monday.
