Altered States

The patient is recovering post-op, resting comfortably. The gauzy curtains filter the normally harsh winter light, transforming the private room with a dreamlike. Bandages are gently unwrapped and the results of the Dr Bruhn‘s deft surgical handiwork are unveiled.

Oh my.

Not only has the typeface undergone a radical serifectomy, there are signs of reconstruction, enhancement, and transplant. It‘s a bit like the guy who has his toe installed where his thumb should be after some freak motorized barstool accident. I‘m afraid that the patient may have requested a series of stylistic hybridizations not witnessed since the early 90s. It‘s no wonder that someone‘s sanity is in question.

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Grant Hutchinson.
