Tick Mark

I’m not sure what is setting off my alarm, but there’s a distinct feeling that Mr Simonson may be feeling the pinch. I hope that this headline isn’t implying that it’s time for Mark get his ticker fixed. Speaking of fixed, let’s take a closer look at what structural improvements have been made to the typeface. There’s a quiet, consistent rhythm in these characters. They’re growing up, more serious, more complex ... but with an irregular beat. Notice the large dot of the ‘j’ and the knife-like vertical strokes of the ‘a’ and ‘g’. Perhaps this major surgery was merely cosmetic.

Nip. Tuck. Time’s up.

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Grant Hutchinson.
