I’m not sure what is setting off my alarm, but there’s a distinct feeling that Mr Simonson may be feeling the pinch. I hope that this headline isn’t implying that it’s time for Mark get his ticker fixed. Speaking of fixed, let’s take a closer look at what structural improvements have been made to the typeface. There’s a quiet, consistent rhythm in these characters. They’re growing up, more serious, more complex ... but with an irregular beat. Notice the large dot of the ‘j’ and the knife-like vertical strokes of the ‘a’ and ‘g’. Perhaps this major surgery was merely cosmetic.
