I took a class in feminist criticism (maybe the whole class wasn’t just about that, but whatever) and the paper for this frame practically writes itself. The woman is not only forced to mask her face, but now she’s been reversed and monotoned and silkscreened onto a headless man’s sleeve. And don’t get me started on the red icon, which is simultaneously castrating and menstruating.
You have some issues, Scott Hansen. That's what all the co-eds in the class used to say about me, anyway. I probably should have stopped calling them "co-eds."
This volley poses an interesting question. We seem to be on a different train here. I mentioned in the preview that a key for Jason would be to set the mood, he has certainly done that through the first five letters. This seems to be Scott's attempt to change the tempo (if not the genre entirely) by adding a bit of levity. The response will be critical. Or as critical as it gets in design contests modeled on sporting events, anyway.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Kevin Guilfoile.
