A nice ending by Draplin brings the pants back into play. But there's also a little bragging going on here...Draplin's jeans are clearly higher on the flagpole than the Potts corduroys.
From the comments on Twitter, it appears as though Draplin has the match all sewn up. I'm not allowed to vote on the match (I actually don't know if that's true or not) so let me instead play devil's advocate here for a moment and present an argument for a Potts victory. Goes something like this:
Regarding the whole improv "yes and" vs. "no" thing, for most of the match, Potts was attempting to "yes and" but each time he did that, Draplin hit him with a "no". Part of the point of Layer Tennis, from my vantage point, is for the two competitors to build something together. Yes, it's ultimately a competition but cooperation is a necessary component. Draplin's volleys were blistering to be sure but perhaps should have contributed more to a collective something. (Potts's volleys were also more timely that Draplin's...Aaron went over time on a couple of volleys.) Maybe something for you to consider before voting.
Speaking of, cast your vote for the winner of today's match by placing a #adraplin or a #spotts along with a #lyt in your tweets. The winner chosen solely by your votes will move on to the semifinals, so don't vote lightly.
Thanks for tuning in, everyone. I'm off to enjoy a little dinner with the family. Thanks also to our two competitors, Coudal for hosting and keeping this well-oiled machine moving along, and to Adobe for the sponsorship. Have a nice weekend, all!
