Ryan Schreiber Loves the 'Balls

I'm sure we all remember the halcyon days of 2004 when two fuel trains collided in North Korea, Ken and Barbie broke up, and Ken Jennings started his amazing run on Jeopardy.

But surely the highlight was Sweden's own Dungen scoring a ridiculous 9.3 on Pitchfork for their album Ta Det Lugnt — which was totally in Swedish, by the way!

At the time — we were so shamefully naive then — at the time, we figured there would never be a Swedish-language album that would score higher. I mean it was statistically impossible.

But then, about six months ago, an unmarked CD-R makes its way across Pitchfork's "desk" (actually a day laborer crouched down in a cramped Brooklyn walk-up). A CD-R that totally transformed the entire indie scene.

Oh you think I'm exaggerating? Shut your fat face and listen.

I think the Pitchfork score speaks for itself. Hey, Animal Collective? Maybe it's time to drag those salmon shirts and pea green vests out of storage and get back in the goddamn game.
