I know it’s Good Friday and all so please forgive me, but Sweet Jesus, what a return!
Jennifer has reached into the fourth dimension for her volley with an animated GIF. That's right, WE'RE TRAVELING THROUGH TIME!! If you're using an early version of Cello, Cyberdog, or NCSA Mosaic to view this match, please upgrade your browser so that you can see this GIF in all its glory. Said glory includes a vintage Under Construction sign so please hustle; the web hasn't seen one o' these babies since the late 90s.
It takes two to tango, teeter totter, and to play Layer Tennis. On Twitter earlier, @harvrock said: "always interested how the 1st serve in layer tennis is usu nice, but volley 2 sets pace for friendly, sarcastic, rude, etc" It seems as though Jennifer has gone with a playful pace. The computer user of Jillian's serve has encountered some difficulty with the broadband surfing of her information superhighway or whatever. No more tickity tickity.
Speculating a bit on possible returns here, how does one hit something coming at you in the fourth dimension? Do you return an animated GIF in kind or hit something back into the flat and low and frozen of the spatial court? Your shot, Jillian.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Jason Kottke.
