On the last volley I noticed that some of the lines in the image were veering off into space, never to be processed by our observer. But Mitch--and the imps in his employ--apparently take no such chances: If the lines don't meet your eye then, by gum, we'll just bore them through the side of your skull.
And the first thing I thought of, upon seeing the sketch marks over the child's face, was Tippy the Turtle. remember him? Do modern day artists still get their start by drawing turtles and pirates from the back of comic books?
(As an aside, I always wanted to start an urban legend that warned people not to respond to those "Draw Tippy" ads, because those who submitted skilled artwork would be subsequently kidnapped by unscrupulous Hollywood animation studios and put to work churning out Land Before Time XXIV: Dinos At The Mall! in a thirdworld sweatshop. Feel free to promulgate that.)
Nice progression from volley to volley; can't wait to see where Rod takes us next.
