Folks, we have a chronological bender on our hands, here. In one fell swoop Mitch rockets us from tape drives to flash animation, but steeps the whole ball of wax in a style that predates either.
And apparently the overarching theme this afternoon is going to be "images that make Matthew think back fondly on being eight". The roving eyeball and adorable font place me back in my childhood cinema, excited beyond belief in the moments before the lights go down and some James-Bond-watered-down-for-twerps motion picture hits the silver screen.
Except, this time, I am the Narrator. Could I be more excited about this development. It's like I enrolled in a Fantasy Camp of Awesome.
The question now is how Rod can pin down this volley's motion and wrestle it into his next static image. Mitch gave him lots of iconic imagery to work with, though, so I expect Rod will find a way.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Matthew Baldwin.
