Our .psd arrives in Montreal a few layers heavier into Evan Melnyks capable hands. I gotta admit, Id never checked out Curse of the Multiples until a few days ago, but I recognized quite a bit of his work from around the design web world, and loved the rest of his work.
Now Evan's had his way with the file, and we have our first literal tennis reference of 2009. Nicely done in Evan's old-school newsprint style, with a few traces of Scott's background and colors. I'm not a fan of Avant Garde, but at least he didn't use the alternate characters, and he knows his target market, Jim Coudal, for one, loves reliving the '70s through type. I've just been informed that Evan is actually in London at the moment, but representing Les Habitants from across the Atlantic. That'll make it easier to lob that heavy-looking huge orange ball over to Tom.
UPDATE: that heavy-looking orange ball is Tom's!
I originally thought we were looking at a mixed doubles team, but it's hard to say if that's a woman or bjorn borg on the left there. I'm guessing the latter (see soundtrack.)

Briana (volley 7 to come) got it in my head this morning, but I never knew it'd come up: Sugalumps, obviously.
