Comments On The Serve

DINman

The ultimate meta play: an infographic design that explains and justifies its own existence. Brilliant.

The interplay with the surrounding web page navigation elements is spot-on. All of a sudden, I can't imagine any other way to open the match.

Most designers have one font they call home, one that they've mastered and can bend to suit widely varying purposes. Inman's is DIN, and he brings it out here in his opening serve. Back in week one, he kept it in his holster until late in the match. It fits like a glove here.

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by John Gruber.
