Secret Show at the Stomach

Wow, you know, these crabs work hard all day at the photo lab, yet, every night they head out to the Monster's Stomach to see unsigned bands, hoping to catch a glimpse of the next best thing and bump up their indie cred. Who knew, as they paid their five clams to get into the Bucky and the Cumquats show tonight, that they'd end up seeing the historic first live performance of Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, and Pete Doherty's new band. Apparently, the three met up outside the courthouse one afternoon and decided to go back to their roots. Ironically, the only one of them I've ever seen playing an actual musical instrument (Pete) is the tambourine man. The crabs all ran to the bathroom to charge their cell phones to take some photos to Twitter to their Friendsters, or whatever it is the kids do with their phones these days.

A fantastic last volley from Hutch, all that remains is VanBeater's final word.

Soundtrack to this volley: Bucky and the Cumquats (that's actually still the name of the band) is playing the only song they could all agree on, "Fool's Gold" by the Stone Roses, but Jay-Z is rapping all over it like Run-DMC did when they sampled "Fool's Gold" in "What's it All About."

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Bryan Bedell.
