Oh man, I knew this whole British spelling issue would manifest itself eventually. But did you have to attack me, Rob, by referring to the crippling writers' strike going on now in Los Angeles? Did you have to hit me where it hurt?
Once again we have to choose sides here, and besides the gang-related overtones (which I refuse to address due to my affiliations), the fact remains that when it comes down to it, British people just can't spell. As a writer, I can say that.
Besides the fact that he's playing from the future and has an obvious advantage, Rob has chosen to make this less about design, and more about how the United Kingdom is still, after all these years, extremely touchy about that little tiff back in '76.
It's all coming down to that one 'u' that someone forgot to remove when they came over on the Mayflower. And I'm pretty sure that cardboard box Muppet on the right who has taken to the streets to defend this cause would agree with me, too.
