Play-By-Play Commentary

Gorillas In the Midst

So the brief went something like this: Gorillas are going to be walking upright any day now, and they need an identity that says, we're ready to move forward on two feet. Yes, this is the new logo for the evolutionary advocacy group Movin' On. And that fire he's holding? It looks more like a giant walnut without all that yellow behind it.

Once again, we've done a 360 between volleys. Sure, Rob keeps this rumble firmly in the jungle but wipes the slate clean of every trace of the past. Every color, every reference to obsolete technology, every speck of an early game when we were young, innocent and free. Forget all that. We're moving on.

But how can we, with all we know now? We know that gorillas did not discover walnuts. We know walnuts are never found that large in the wild, unless they've been genetically engineered. We know that gorillas would never leave that kind of footprint unless they'd been provoked, most likely by a pesky designer. How can we move on with so many unanswered questions?

Apparently they just started serving alcohol over in the Layer Tennis stands. I'll take a cold Bud up here, unless Rob already puked them all up.

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Alissa Walker.
