Peace has broken out in today's match. After several attempts at reaching an accord, Harrington has gone with Anderson's flow (literally!). Bob Ross's "happy little trees" have made an appearance to soften things up.
Harrington seems to have made quite a nod to Anderson's style here. The starsea in particular as well as the ring of brightly colored trees. But he also returns his teepee to the center of the composition, propped up by a halftone hand. And now the fish are receiving the layer treatment...see if you can spot the dolphin. (Ok, dolphin's are technically mammals, but cut me some slack here.)
Backstage, game-master Jim Coudal has pondered: "Is that a peace sign or a V for victory I wonder?" Good question, and only one that Anderson's final shot and the crowd's vote can answer.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Jason Kottke.

Tomorrow we continue our series of live, experimental Layer Tennis Exhibitions with a motion graphics match between Matt Smithson and Daniel Oeffinger. As usual, the action starts at 2pm Chicago time. Check the time in your area. What is unusual is that the match won't finish until next Thursday. We'll be posting two layers per weekday. We've always wondered what would happen if we gave a couple artists a lot more time to do each volley and this week we'll find out. Commentary is by Jason Koxvold, who knows a little something about LYT and mo-graf. Jason's Match Preview has been posted and so has the coin-flip.
